Du 9 juin à 06h00 au 11 juin 2022 à 22h00 sur inscription

Due to popular demand, the Dutch Group is pleased to present a pre-recorded webinar of the lecture by Marie-Claire Valck Lucassen , Art Historian, on the Chinese artist, Ai Weiwei.

The webinar will be accessible to registered participants during the three-day time-slot of 9, 10 & 11 June 2022.

Ai Weiwei is undoubtedly one of the most thought-provoking artists of our time. He comes across as sympathetic and gentle but his sharp criticism when it comes to politics, human rights, and environmental issues, is unrelenting. With unconventional means and infinite creativity, he conveys crystal clear messages that cannot leave one indifferent. Even though he is now world famous and museums and galleries all over the world are eager to work with him, he says : “Art is never about exhibiting in museums or about hanging it on the wall. Art should live in the heart of the people.”

Marie-Claire Valck Lucassen is an Art Historian and Art Lecturer with broad knowledge and expertise, from 17th Century Dutch Masters to Modern and Contemporary Art. Guide in various museums in The Hague such as The Mauritshuis, The Kunstmuseum, Museum Voorlinden and the Clingenbosch sculpture garden in Wassenaar.
