This time, the menu started with a delicious glazed ham, salmon mousse and different sorts of vegetable quiches, accompanied by a variety of salads. These were followed by home made crumbles, trifles and brownies. You also could help yourself to water and bread.
Also, if you wanted to treat yourself (and why not ?), you could buy some of Jill’s home-made marmalade, bright as sunshine, and another British speciality like lemon curd. I also found a bottle of exquisite mango chutney in an original Sharwoods bottle, for old time’s sake !
There were some very good books for sale, small and cheap pocket books, also albums on gardening and cookery. I finished my shopping by buying a tiny Thai basil plant that has the habit of becoming a forest on my terrace.
I love sharing my lunch-time with members of the different groups who I do not normally have the chance to meet or to get to know. You can shift places, meet somebody else, discuss your next project. The time spent is not only a pleasure but also useful. Many thanks to the Foundation NAH which makes it possible to have such a lovely meeting place in town with easy access. And there is also a garden !
I hope there will be many more occasions like this when we raise money for our Association and also enjoy ourselves in excellent company.
I hope to see you at the next GET- TOGETHER in June organised by the Portuguese Group.
